We’re delighted to have been named Glasgow’s Most Outstanding Business at The 2023 Glasgow Business Awards.

As a Glasgow-based coffee roastery, we were honoured to take home what is widely considered to be the most prestigious award of the night, alongside the award for Sustainable Development, stealing the show at the 25th anniversary of the ceremony, hosted by Glasgow Chamber of Commerce.

To come away with not one but two awards is a testament to our incredible team members’ hard work, dedication, and innovation, who consistently go above and beyond to deliver excellence in everything we do. It’s a proud moment for all of us as we work towards our Net Zero by 2040 ambition.

The awards, which have a rich history, commenced in 1997 when they were held in the then Thistle Hotel, to an audience of around 250 people and have taken place annually breaking only for the pandemic. The gala event has grown significantly over the years to become the champion of major achievements and business success in the city, and the ‘must have’ for the business community.

We have operated in the city for over 150 years and have recently undergone a multimillion-pound investment, which will see the site able to roast over 2,500 tonnes of coffee each year.

We’re also proud to be named Best Coffee Roaster at the 2022 European Coffee Awards, and we are keeping our fingers crossed as we’re nominated again this year!

The accolade of Most Outstanding Business was awarded following a range of changes delivered across our business, including supporting Bernardo’s with coffee school training to open up employment opportunities for young people.

Our Managing Director, Paul Chadderton said:

“We’re extremely proud of our Glasgow roastery so it’s an incredible honour to be named Glasgow’s most outstanding business.

“We are also delighted with our sustainability award and thrilled to be recognised as a business investing in creative activities to drive engagement and behavioural changes. Small changes can have a big impact and our people are at the heart of our achievements. We engage with our community because it matters, and it focuses on the next generation of leaders in sustainability.”

Congratulations to every company nominated for an award and to all our fellow winners. For a full list of winners, go to the Glasgow Business Awards website.
