Whether it's funding a community clinic in Ethiopia, or giving Glasgow's schoolchildren a helping hand, we do what we can to make a difference.

Solar Panels

Green Manufacturing

This probably won't shock you: our roastery uses a fair bit of energy. Which explains the 40 solar panels on our roof. What we don't need, we give back to the national grid.

There's a lot more to green manufacturing of course, including waste reduction,  recycling (and use of recycled materials) wherever possible.  View our WEEE Policy here.

Community Initiatives

Charitable Support

Here are just some of the ways we support coffee communities - and people a little closer to home.

  • Coffee farming families- the Fundación Amigos del Café (or "Friends of Coffee Foundation") exists to improve the living standards of smallholder coffee farmers in cooperatives in Wester Honduras. Our formal partnership with the Funcatión kiked off in 2015, but we have been sourcing delicious triple certified coffee for our blends from coffee farmers in this region for many years.
  • Local Charities- we support our local Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice helping their patients achieve the best quality of life possible.
  • Rwanda's coffee communities - the David Williamson Rwanda Foundation is a memorial to the life of Matthew Algie's former owner and Managing Director.

Holyrood School

Community Initiatives

Europe's largest school - Holyrood Secondary - is just a few minutes' drive from our roastery. We work with their Business Studies pupils as part of the Scottish Food & Drink Federation's schools programme.
