Let’s get this straight. We source the very best beans. Then we roast them to perfection – preserving their flavour with liquid nitrogen and the very finest grinding technology money can buy. Finally, they’re packed in bags that lock in the flavour.
So why, oh why, do these once proud beans end up stewed to death on hotplates? Well, we’ve decided to stamp out this wanton cruelty: we’re banning these instruments of torture – by no longer supplying glass decanter brewers.
As David Williamson explains, “We believe that you can only keep coffee on a hotplate for a maximum of 30 minutes. In practice, this just does not happen, as even in the busiest of cafés or bars, there will be a time during the day when demand for coffee diminishes.”
Of course, we’re not abandoning customers who need to brew in bulk. There are lots of alternative serving methods these days, all of which make for much fresher tasting coffee. If you’d like to find out more, just call 0800 COFFEE. And say goodbye to the stew.
