Since our last piece on Tiki Caffé, the sales of our organic, fairly traded coffee have continued to grow at over 40% year-on-year. There’s a seemingly unstoppable force of consumers demanding a fairer deal for coffee growers – especially against the backdrop of low world prices for coffee.

Oxfam have been working hard to highlight the issue, and in the current climate, consumer demand for Fairtrade coffee is only going to get even stronger. Which is great news for coffee farmers.

Here’s what one of the recent converts – Russell Cox from The South Lodge Hotel in Horsham, West Sussex– says about Tiki Caffé:

“We’ve just completed a £7m expansion – with 12 brand new rooms for conferences and weddings. This is part of our £20m investment in South Lodge Hotel – and our aim to achieve five star status with a new spa, bar, restaurant and accommodation.”

“This quest also means offering the best possible coffee. Many of our customers have asked about organic or Fairtrade products, so we decided to conduct a tasting. We chose Tiki Caffé because we loved the taste: smooth and subtle, with a crisp finish. It’s the perfect coffee for drinking throughout the day.”
